In the very first line of my article. Now let\u2019s get down to the details.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pageWrap pageWrap--s marginBottom-m paddingBottom-s c-slate lineHeight-l fontSize-l fontWeight-3 breakPointM-fontSize-xl breakPointM-lineHeight-xl\">Design principles are very common among large and well-established companies. <a class=\"link link--blue fontWeight-4\"href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/design\/spec\/material-design\/introduction.html\">Google<\/a>, <a class=\"link link--blue fontWeight-4\"href=\"https:\/\/design.atlassian.com\/\">Atlassian<\/a>, even <a class=\"link link--blue fontWeight-4\"href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/design-principles\">British Government<\/a> (just to name a few) have their own design rules. And that\u2019s pretty cool. Why? Well, it defines the core of who those companies are and how they go about certain things. Each design professional must have their own. You may already have a few rules on how to approach each creative project, whether you\u2019re a furniture maker or a graphic designer. They probably are not set in stone and are just hanging loosely in the corners of your brain. Creating physical stuff, like shower heads for SAD sufferers. I then switched to packaging design at Cadbury\u2019s. When I\u2019ve had enough, I tested digital design waters. And it kind of stuck with me. Through all these years of my varied experiences, I have developed a strong sense of how to create stuff. It\u2019s all about the user, their needs, their behaviours, likes, dislikes, you name it. I\u2019m not suggesting you follow them blindly though. Little details, no matter how subtle they are, bring a great joy when using a product. Remember that feeling when you received your parcel bought on eBay and it was all wrapped up nicely? Or when you got notified when you tried to add the same song to your Spotify playlist? It\u2019s nice they think about that, right?
